Q. Do skirting boards need to be removed before plastering work?
A. No, not in most cases. You can remove the skirting boards if you want to replace them.
Q. Does the work area need to be cleared in advance before rendering or plastering work?
A. Yes, please. For your peace of mind and for us to get your work done quicker, please clear the area before our arrival.
Q. Can I put the heating on right after the completion of skimming?
A. Yes, you can put the heating on at a low setting.
Q. How long do I need to wait before I can paint my newly plastered wall?
A. It depends on different factors like plaster type, substrate, thickness etc. We advise you to let the plaster dry first.
Q. Can you dispose of waste?
A. KD Plastering Services Ltd can arrange a skip for waste collection.
Q. Which paint should be used on new plaster?
A. A multi-finish plaster should be painted with watered-down trade emulsion for the first coat. This helps the paint to soak into the new plaster, offering a base for second or third coats. If it is a lime finish plaster, then please use breathable paints.
